TRAVELS WITH MY FILM.

In Eastbourne for the Crossing the Screen International Film Festival, I’ve had a moment to pause and think about what it means to travel with my film. This journey has taken us from Morocco to Tunisia, Lebanon, the United States, Spain, Greece, Italy, Canada, South Africa, and more. Each place has its own atmosphere, its own rhythm of life, yet in every new location, I’m struck by the common ground we all share.

Traveling, for me, is more than just moving from one place to another; it’s an opportunity to meet diverse groups of people, to hear their stories and share my own.

Here in Eastbourne, the experience has been quieter, more reflective, but equally meaningful. Meeting the local audience, hearing their thoughts and seeing their reactions to the film, I’m reminded of the universal themes that connect us. Joy, sorrow, hope — it’s all there, in every culture, in every place I’ve visited.

This journey has been a series of such encounters, each teaching me something new about our shared humanity and the unique expressions of life around the globe. And it’s in these moments — simple, unassuming, yet profound — that the true value of this journey lies.

As I walk along the Eastbourne pier, looking out at the calm sea, I’m grateful for this chance to travel, to learn, and to connect. It’s a reminder of how storytelling can bridge distances, bringing us closer to understanding each other, our similarities far outweighing our differences.
