DIRECTORS ROUNDTABLE WITH THE LIFT-OFF GLOBAL NETWORK.

I recently had the opportunity to join a directors roundtable hosted by the Lift-Off Global Network in anticipation of the 2003 Season Awards, where our film has been nominated for Best First-Time Filmmaker. It was a wonderful experience to connect with fellow filmmakers before the awards ceremony at Pinewood this Saturday.

The competition is strong, making the chances of winning quite slim. Regardless of the outcome, I am deeply appreciative of the Lift-Off Global Network's enthusiasm and support for our film. It's an honour to have our work recognised among the thousands of remarkable short films submitted.

Through this journey, I've learnt that the selection and nomination process for awards can be unpredictable, often with no clear criteria. The sheer talent and quality of films I've encountered at festivals have left me in awe. Winning would be a significant achievement, but my pride in our film remains unwavering. Recognition is always welcome, yet the true satisfaction comes from the work itself and the impact it has. :)
